FIRST
FIRST® was founded in 1989 to stimulate young people’s interest in science and technology. Founded in Manchester NH, FIRST® designs accessible and innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue an education and career in science, engineering, technology and mathematics, while building self-confidence and life skills.
A Suite of Hands-On STEM Programs for Every Age
FRC
Every year, at the FIRST® Robotics Competition (ages 14-18 / grades 9-12), young people experience an exciting sporting experience that brings together science, technology, engineering and math. In this competition, student teams build and program industrial-sized robots and play an action-packed, alliance-based game around a theme that changes every year. Under the guidance of mentors and sponsors, students gain engineering and problem-solving skills they can apply to real-world scenarios.
FIKRET YUKSEL FOUNDATION
Founded in 1998 by Fikret Yüksel, the foundation aims to support the education of Turkish students. Since 2008, it has focused on expanding the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) program in Turkey, providing students with opportunities in engineering and STEM fields.
With the foundation’s support, the first FRC teams were established in Turkey, Off-Season events were organized and the first official FRC Regional Competition took place in 2018. Today, the foundation continues to prepare hundreds of students for the future by providing financial support, training and mentorship.
